Cold Wave Hits West Madhya Pradesh, Temperatures Drop Sharply
IN · Published Nov 4, 2026
• As of November 4, 2026, several regions in India are experiencing significant temperature drops, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
• Minimum temperatures have fallen below normal by 1.6°C to 3.0°C in East Madhya Pradesh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, and isolated areas in Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, East Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, East Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, and Saurashtra & Kutch.

Impact & Risks

The sharp drop in temperatures, particularly in West Madhya Pradesh and Rayalaseema, could pose health risks such as hypothermia and respiratory issues, especially for vulnerable populations like the elderly and children. The weakening cyclonic circulation over the Arabian Sea may still bring localized rainfall and gusty winds, potentially disrupting marine activities. The persistent cyclonic circulations over north Haryana and south Assam could lead to localized weather disturbances, including light to moderate rainfall in these regions. Residents in affected areas should remain cautious and monitor updates from local authorities.
